Ohio Valley Branch/IDA Spring Conference

Linda Farrell will be speaking on March 28, 2009 at the Anderson Township Community Center.

Linda Farrell is co-founder of Really Great Reading . She is a reading specialist who worked independently as a reading consultant prior to founding Really Great Reading. Linda developed many of the workshops and products that Really Great Reading offers. She gives workshops to schools, districts, and states nationally. She also continues to develop multi-sensory materials to help beginning and struggling readers. In her workshops and conferences she offers attendees some real hands-on tools they are able to take back and use in the classroom the next day. Among other things , she presents a matrix for teachers to help them pinpoint the exact weaknesses of the reader. Linda is a national LETRS trainer and also a national DIBELS trainer for Sopris West.

If you have been thinking about checking out DaytonREAD, now is the time!  We have meetings scheduled for the third Thursdays in February, March, and April.  Same time, same place – hope you can make it!

Please join us on Thursday, February 19th from 6:45 pm until 8:15 pm at the Kettering-Moraine Library for our regular monthly meeting.  We plan to take time for discussion in a round-table format.  Teachers and tutors, please come with your best hints and tips for lesson planning.  Parents, this will give you a time to share your thoughts and gain insights from others who have traveled a similar path.  Everyone is welcome!
