Due to the events of this week, tonight’s meeting with Arlene Setzer has been canceled.  We hope to reschedule soon and will be sure to let you know when we do!

Dayton READ has arranged to have State Representative Arlene Setzer
come speak to the group. Arlene currently serves as Chair of the
Education Committee. At the meeting she will highlight what’s going
on in education. She looks forward to answering questions, as well
as explaining the process and procedure for working on legislation
that deals with dyslexia.

We’ll meet at the Kettering-Moraine Library, 6:45-8:15 pm on
Thursday, Sept. 18th.

Please bring a friend or three! We’d love to have a great turn out
for Representative Setzer.

Prior to joining the House, Representative Setzer worked as a teacher
at Vandalia-Butler High School for more than 30 years, teaching
business and computer classes and serving as an advisor for numerous
student organizations and events. She also served on Vandalia City
Council from 1982 until 2000. During her tenure on city council,
Representative Setzer was vice-mayor from 1986 to 1988 and again from
1995 to 2000.

Representative Setzer graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the
University of Dayton and her master’s degree in education with
additional post-graduate work from Wright State University.
